2017 News Highlights

This year, Limkokwing University’s International Cultural Festival re-emerged with bigger, better surprises for global citizens from over 100 countries—doing justice to its theme ‘The World in One Place’.

With three main stations—Global Campus, Cityscape and the Island—established throughout the campus, this year’s cultural festival was the biggest yet.

The Global Campus was the epicentre of the festival where our students set up more than 50 booths to represent their countries. Each booth brought to life various facets of their countries’ culture, heritage and national identity.

Throughout the day, local and foreign festival-goers used their ‘passports’ or tickets to travel around the Global Campus—experiencing a kaleidescope of sensory delights through art, music, dance, food and cultures from around the globe.

Powered by AXN, Redbull and Mountain Dew, the Cityscape featured challenging and adrenaline-pumping activities such as an obstacle course, mini futsal and virtual reality ski run.

The festival also housed a Bali-themed pool party, The Island entertaining its more laid-back, relaxed crowd with acoustic performances and poolside activities.

As the evening session kicked in, festival-goers were treated to colourful cultural performances from 15 countries and a lineup of popular local artists like Joe Flizzow, SonaOne and many more.

Recognising talent and hardwork, prizes worth RM 10,000 were handed out to the Best Cultural Booth, Best Cultural Attire and the Best Cultural Performance winners.

The Festival is truly an unbeatable cross-cultural celebration. It is an echo of the diversity embraced by the University where students from over 150 countries receive a global education committed in promoting innovation, unity and tolerance.
